Doubt is something every believer experiences at some point in their spiritual journey. But here's the good news: doubt doesn't have to destroy your faith. In fact, when handled well, it can actually strengthen it.

When we suffer, we often question whether God is truly good. But the cross demonstrates God's goodness definitively—He didn't spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all (Romans 8:32). If God did that, can we not trust Him with everything else?

Doubt About the Bible's Reliability

The Bible has more manuscript evidence than any other ancient document. Its historical accuracy has been repeatedly confirmed by archaeology. And its unity—written over 1,500 years by 40+ authors yet telling one coherent story—points to divine inspiration.

Practical Steps When Doubting

Here's how to navigate seasons of doubt:

1. Be honest with God: He already knows your doubts. Bring them to Him openly, as the psalmists did.

2. Study and investigate: Don't be afraid to ask hard questions. God can handle your intellectual honesty.

3. Talk to mature believers: Others have faced similar doubts and can offer wisdom and perspective.

4. Remember past faithfulness: Reflect on times when God has proven Himself faithful in your life.

5. Keep doing what you know is right: Continue in prayer, worship, and obedience even when you don't feel like it.

Jesus' Response to Doubt

When Thomas doubted the resurrection, Jesus didn't condemn him. Instead, He graciously provided the evidence Thomas needed:

"Then he said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.'" - John 20:27
