What the Bible says

What does the Bible say about parenting?

Children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and parents are charged to teach them God’s words diligently in the ordinary course of life (Deuteronomy 6:6-7). Fathers in particular are told not to provoke their children to anger but to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), with loving correction, patient teaching and a faithful example.
