What the Bible says

What does the Bible say about sin?

“Sin is any want of conformity unto, or transgression of, the law of God” (Baptist Catechism Q18; 1 John 3:4). Since Adam’s fall every person is a sinner, by nature dead in trespasses and sins and a child of wrath (Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3), and “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
