What the Bible says

What does the Bible say about creation?

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). God made all things of nothing by the word of his power, in the space of six days, and all very good (Baptist Catechism Q13; Genesis 1:31; Hebrews 11:3), and he created man male and female in his own image (Genesis 1:27). Creation displays his eternal power and divine nature so that people are without excuse (Romans 1:20), and all things were made through the Son and hold together in him (Colossians 1:16-17).

Let all the earth fear the LORD. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm.

  8. John 1:3

All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made.

  9. Colossians 1:16-17
