What the Bible says

What does the Bible say about thankfulness?

Believers are to “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18), because every good and perfect gift comes from the Father (James 1:17). Ingratitude lies at the root of humanity’s rebellion against God (Romans 1:21), but those who receive an unshakable kingdom worship God with thankfulness (Hebrews 12:28), above all for his inexpressible gift in Christ (2 Corinthians 9:15).
